not to say you didnt or to sound like the negative skeptic, but you did say it was 2:22 am in the morning, are you sure yer eyes werent playing tricks on you, that is pretty late at night.
I have seen stuff like that before, and I chalked it up to being eyes tired, and seeing things, yer mind will play tricks on you, especially
at that time of night.
Were alseep, then woke up and saw it?
Or, were you already up, busy reading, on the computer, tired, eyes hurting?

Once again Pitch, I'm not saying you didnt see a Shadow person, just looking for another reasonable answer.

Pitch- I was told that our shadow thing is most likely a spirit that cannot fully appear. It would be an apparition, but it takes too much energy to appear. It was also suggested that it could be my father. The person I talked to told me to talk out loud to it. I was told the spirit cannot read my mind. Just like they could not when they were alive. I am apprehensive to do so. If it was Dad, okay, but what if it isn't? I am taking a wait and see attitude. We have only had three visits in a year.

What I am getting at, if you feel it is your son, you can speak to him. With things being moved, it sounds like someone is trying to get your attention. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child. My thoughts are with you.

You have very valid points and I agree but at this stage in my life, I am 62, I do not sleep as soundly or at long intervals, I wake up every few hours and I am fully awake. So, I do know that I saw 'something' moved across the doorway. I only came to this conclusion after searching for other cause and none were found.

I have been skeptical about ghosts etc, until so many unexplainable small things happens and this was a biggie.

I attempted last night to reproduced the affect but could not. So??

This article helps explain what most paranormal sightings are. I will add I read this a while back and I notice how true it is as far as seeing something under certain conditions.

Thank you for posting the article. I agree that many sightings can be explained as misperceptions. How many times do you catch a glance of something out of the corner of your eye and think what was that? I believe it is your mind playing tricks on you. Or your mind finds familiar objects in dim light, matrixing. I would question the existence of these figures if I had not seen it for myself. As a realist I do not believe in a lot of things. I need to see it for myself.

Then there is the time you see a figure moving through an area and there is no explanation. It is as real as you and I. It occurs during the day, hours after you have awoken. You do not tell anyone else in the household about it. In fear that they will be spooked and not feel comfortable in their home. A few months pass. A household member starts talking about this thing they saw and describe what you saw to a tee.

My hubby has not seen one, but he knows I do not make things up. I tell him, "You just wait, one day you might see one too, Then you will believe".

One more question Pitch, like I've seen on Ghosthunters, could it have been a car's headlights that shown thru the window and made the shadow form?

If not, then I do chalk it up as one of those strange bizarre paranormal things that our minds cannot fathom

Not possible. My house sits about 250 feet back off of the main road. There's only the gravel path which leads to my house. No cars on the main highway has any affect on my house, only if they are coming up my drive. Since I immediately went in search of the intruder I would have noted any cars outside. There were none.

I tried during the night to have a repeat but could not create the same affect.

I agree, it was SOMETHING unexplainable, thus far.

I have mentioned hearing whispers in my bedroom at night and was unable to locate from it came. Well, last night, after returning to bed after my nightly bathroom visit, I laid down, shut my eyes and heard plainly a whisper that said, 'knock, knock,' not a knocking sound but the word 'knock' twice!

Like a person will say when they want in but there is no door. Or perhaps someone or thing wants to play a 'knock, knock,' joke?
