The Philadelphia Experiment

I know I read this thread here and now I can't find it. The Philadelphia Experiment - I read something by Al Bieckle (sp?) about the experiment. I have always believed it ad felt it happened this way. Einstein filled up several blackboards with equations and worked out this theory to make our ships invisible to Nazi u-boats. His equations did not tell warn him problems. They put the theory into practice and it worked alright but then all the unforeseen things began to happen. When we look back on it now - we think "why didn't they see this coming?" Hindsight is always better than foresight. BUT I truely believe Al Bieckel is either dreaming or again there are some unseen circumstances going on. Frankly my heart sank when I read his interview - I kind of felt like he was trying to hard - yet sitting here thinking about it - well who knows.....we will just wait and see. As I tell my husband - when I get there I have a lot of questions I want answered. In the meantime, do I take a chance and not believe it or do I believe and see what elese I can find on it? Robbie

RE: Top wackiest conspiracy theories
Aha, the Philadephia experiment!! Icontexto-emoticons-06-032x032 I love that one, me.

It was more Nikola Tesla's experiement, and there are records showing that USS Eldridge was used for some kind of naval testing in 1942/43 designed to make ships invisible to radar for the forthcoming invasion of Normandy.

I have read and listened to many interviews with Al Beilich, also with the Montauk project that they allegedly hooked up with in 1983. It is a fascinating story, and sometimes Beilich makes a good case. But there are other aspects of the story ... Preston Nichol worked at Montauk and has some wild stories of time travel, creation of monsters etc.

The one that really confused me though is Duncan, Al's brother. In interviews he seems very recluse and strange. He was the one sitting in the "chair" that allowed him to use the power of the mind to travel in time. Allegedly.

It's worth reading as much as you can, if even just for the fantasy aspect.

RE: The Philadelphia Experiment
Beilek was part of a book on the subject along with Brad Steiger and Sherry Hanson-Steiger that was published in 1990...."The Philadelphia Experiment and other UFO Conspiracies". He also presented a video, "The Philadelphia Experiment Part 1...Crossroads in History". In this video, there is a man who claims he travelled in time from 1943 to 1983. This man was supposedly a physicist on the USS Eldridge and was in on the experiment.

I know you remember the movie made about this. One of my favorites.

Yep, sure do....I saw it with my mom when it came out. I believe it was based on the book by Charles Berlitz. I liked it when the character of David saw Ronald Regan on the news and thought it was an old movie...(referring of course to Regans days as an actor)
