EVP help request
#1
I'm trying to ask a question to a dead friend.  I recorded my self asking the question followed by about 25 seconds of silence.  I dont see anything interesting in the spectrograph, but I'm very new to this and I dont know if there could still be a way to find hidden evp on this recording.  The only program i have access to is wavepad, and i can't find any information on whether its possible to find evp hidden in silence like that and what I would need to do in order to find it.  I'd even met someone else try to find it for me if the would be willing to.

Its never been proven evp is contacting the other side. What is proven is recorders produce sounds as different circuits kick on and off this is misconstrued as voices, audio pareidolia. Its also proven recorders not only receive but also create RF.
Belief bias occurs when we make illogical conclusions in order to confirm our preexisting beliefs. Belief perseverance refers to our tendency to maintain a belief even after the evidence we used to form the belief is contradicted.

What there is evidence of is*

You really have to update your terminology, UnR. If you're going to do things from an objective/logical perspective, you can't just misuse words.

That being said, his first sentence is correct. It hasn't been proven that evp "contacts the other side". In fact, I would argue that it can't/doesn't contact the other side. Merely, it allows you to communicate with those entities, once your contacting has been successful. Whether or not you can or cannot contact the other side is something else entirely. That is the same thing with Ouija boards. They work like evp, essentially. Don't trick yourself into believing that either of these things open up portals and work to contact anything. Whatever you get from these mediums, must be communicating with something that's already there.

Just be careful. EVP opens up a door to the subconscious, and there is some scary stuff in there.

There's a reason why a variety of belief systems warn against this.

If you kick up anything that you don't want, just know you can oust it with banishment tools of your choosing.

Wouldn't EVP only open up a door to the subconscious, if whatever you have as a recording doesn't have any objective evidence of a phenomenon?

What I mean is: If all you have is white noise and all anybody hears from a tape is white noise, and if you were to hear something that others couldn't, then it would be opening up a door to the subconscious.

If there was a recording that had a voice independent of all present parties and each party was able to hear it, that's not anything subconscious. That would be evidence independent of the subconscious.

AND , if it were to be a matter of the subconscious, that isn't evidence of anything paranormal. It would end up becoming: A) A confirmation bias, or; B) An introspective view of your beliefs/expectations. That isn't anything abnormal, and wouldn't require any banishment whatsoever. Depending on the level of severity, it might require some drugs. But we've come a long way with mental illness. Trust your doctor lol
