Apparently, Harvard University’s top Astronomer feels a space ship might have entered our solar system.

This has been an ongoing debate since late last year and I should have posted more on it since we have a UFO's area.  Scientists have been discussing it for a while.  Some of the things that they agree are these:

The object shows light reflection characteristics that indicate it is about 10 times longer than it is wide and that it is tumbling.
The object came towards the sun, slingshot-ed around it on the sun's gravity, and then seemed to accelerate away from the sun.
The trajectory of the object and it's speed indicates it came from outside the solar system and probably from the solar system of a different star.

Discussions of the shape have depicted either long, thin, "splinters" of rock to spaceship looking oblong pancakes.  The object already has left the area that it could have been measured and photographed more closely.  I seem to recall the spectrum of color it reflected was reddish.  Some scientists envision this as being a long, thin spacecraft and some as a completely natural rocky meteor, but they all admit the object is an unusual shape.

That the object accelerated away from the sun is taken by some to mean that it was propelled in some way.  It is not unusual for a comet or other object that was losing, or jetting material as it moved away from the sun, but observations has not disclosed a plume or any indication that it ejected material as it accelerated.  The very imaginative might assume that it used propulsion that was charged by the sun.  Something less imaginative is that it either is, or is like a solar sail, getting pushed and accelerated by solar radiation from the sun.  To behave in that manner the object would need to be very light, so they speculate that the object was extremely thin.

Some scientists have calculated the trajectory of the object and conjectured which star system it came from.  Forgive me, but I don't have the information at hand and didn't memorize which stars they mentioned.  The conjecture is that the object has been traveling several thousand years and they further conjecture that if it was a spaceship it would have been unmanned.  They have forwarded the possibility that this was some sort of unmanned "scout" ship.

Less enthusiastic scientists think that, instead, this was merely an oddly shaped rock traveling through space ejected from another solar system, and ejecting a small amount of unseen ice or gas causing it to change velocity.

Who knows?

Subject: I have a black cat.
Believer: Black cats are bad luck.
Non-believer: It's just a cat.
Crackpot: Black cats are part of the New World Order government conspiracy.
Skeptic: I can test if black cats are more or less lucky than another cat.
Cynic: You only have a black cat to gain power and prestige.

Thank you for this info, DFB! Super interesting stuff. I'm gonna go with the much more sexier option 1: unmanned "scout" ship.  UFO
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep but I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep.
