Floating red ball in the sky?
The other day I was driving to work at around 9.45 pm. As I was slowing down to turn onto a different street, I saw a small, floating red orb in the sky. At first I mistook it for a streetlight, but then I realized it wasn't connected to anything and the color of the light was too red. It stayed stationary, as far as I could tell, and was maybe 12-15 feet off the ground. I wish I hadn't been running late to work, otherwise I would have stopped to take a picture.

Does anyone have any clue what it could have been? I thought maybe it might have been ball lightning, but that's ever occurred around here and it didn't move at all. I'm completely stumped!

Thanks in advance,

RE: Floating red ball in the sky?
There is a type of firework that looks like a red ball that floats slowly to the ground. I remember watching two of them decend and land in the sea once, where they floated, still burning. It freaked me out until more fireworks started going off.

Whatever it was, I doubt an advanced race capable of cross-space travel wouldn't turn up to a covert observation mission riding a giant glowing red ball. Not exactly inconspicuous. I'm not saying they can't exist, just that they might have more common sense.

"Oh! Come on! Do you think I'm a gulla-bull? Or even a gulla-calf?"
