Firstly, along with everyone else, there's no way this can be a trick of the eye. You can clearly see eyes, the brow shadowing, nostrils, arms and legs, and a fabric that seems to swathe the manifestation.

I will say it's possible it's a fake- but if it is- it's a dadgum good one. The "whiteness" of the fabric doesn't seem to be misplaced if you get what Im saying. It appears to be the same brightness as the woman's day dress. Not only that but if you look at the lightning, the natural lighting on the woman and man and back and foreground seem to be consistent with the lighting direction on the manifestation. Not only that but it just SEEMS to belong in that picture. It's so outlandish, so... odd that it just doesn't seem like a modern photoshopper would have chosen THAT to photoshop into an old picture.
