My First Sleep Paralysis

RE: My First Sleep Paralysis
Bracket, it is a very, very weird experience, unless you experience it for yourself you will never comprehend the momentum of this, it is too crazy!

If i'm honest, i really don't think the scientific interpretation is true in my case as i know i was awake. It was the dog being there that made me sure of this, i was aware of his movements the whole time i experienced sp."

You are awake during sleep paralysis. I never said it was a dream or anything. Basically what i'm saying is that you're dreaming while still awake, that's why it's sometimes called a waking dream.

How are you sleeping, eyepriestess? Is it still difficult for you to go to bed in the nighttime? I know when I woke up with that pins and needles feeling (although I know you said you did not experience that in this particular case), I was terrified to go to sleep. Thought my body might go numb for good!

RE: My First Sleep Paralysis
I'm not a wimp in the slightest with most things, but i'll admit i do not want to go to bed until the sun comes up, which is about 4am at the moment. I've just been to the pub with my friend and ive come home feeling afraid i'm going to be on my own... i'll admit. Lucy is on a sleepover and i wont be going to bed yet. I swear this has had a
massive big deal on me. As i typed this it made me cry.

I would like to say that anyone who gives this a scientific explanation and pass it off as 'nothing' wants to experience this for themselves first before passing judgment. I would actually say this has frightened me more that the demon attack i had. At least then i knew what was going on and could deal with it at the time.

This scares me more, as i think there is more to come. Gosh sorry to be so emotional. Love you guys! x

RE: My First Sleep Paralysis
You are emotional because this experience happened to you Eyepriestess. It has frightened you and you want to know what it all means. Your gut tells you that this has another meaning. I tend to trust your judgement. You know what happened, and while you describe it vividly, there is no way to bring across what it truly felt like. I think the answer lies in something you have experienced recently. Do you feel like something is trying to attack? Or that possibly something has followed you back from a recent visit somewhere?

PM me, please if you can.

I think it was three mornings ago this happened, I can't be sure now as the days have been strange lately. I spoke to Karen who comes on this site and mine about my experience, this is what i told her:

I woke up quite late in the morning for me, I think it was around 9 or 10 am, but I can't be certain as I didn't check my watch. As i opened my eyes, i realised i couldn't move a muscle. I was COMPLETELY paralysed. I remember feeling very panicked and felt sure i was about to see something horrible. I tried to cry out, but couldn't do this either. As my eyes looked around the room, the atmosphere was hazy looking, why that should be i don't know, but it was. The room was light as my curtains are thin and let almost all the daylight in.

I became aware that my dog who always sleeps with me was noticing something was wrong. This is when I realised for sure this was happening for real and I wasn't in a dream like state. He started crawling up the bed towards the pillows, but i still couldn't move. This all lasted for about 10 or 12 seconds.

I know people who have suffered sleep paralysis before and have stated that they have felt a pressure on their chest, but I didn't feel that, just the paralysis.

This happened very briefly the following morning, but this time only lasted about 2 seconds.

I have been told that this could be an inccubus, if it is, i didn't see anything. Anyway the whole thing has made me want to stay up quite late into the early hours when the sun rises about 4am, as i'm afraid to go to bed when it is dark. Although, (this may sound strange) i'm also quite excited by this experience, as i have not had a paranormal experience (if it is paranormal) for about a decade now.

What do you think?

i have had that happen this morning just didnt know what it was exactly, but it didn't last that short of a time span... mine wasn't over till five minutes later when my sisters came in to wake me up.

RE: My First Sleep Paralysis
Did you know that you were awake though?

I'll admit as crazy as this sounds, and as scared as its made me, i would like to experience it again, just so i can analyze it. Not sure if the heart would hold out though.
