Ooohh the Windigo!! I did a report on that for my Paranormal Blog a loooong time ago.. I don't remember much of the research that I did about the Windigo, because it was so long ago.. I DO remember that it was pretty interesting and intense.. My cousin is into all of the Native American things, and when I showed her my blog entry about the Windigo, she refused to read my Paranormal Blog ever again... She told me about her beliefs and that within her beliefs, she shouldn't read or even whisper about the Windigo.. I am sooo going to look that thing up again, now. lol.Tongue

Mrs Pooh from which of the native people do you come from if you don't mind me asking? Such a rich spiritual heritage mostly now lost...so sad.
Glad to hear that your hubby's o.k. now that must have been dreadful...not a good experience.
Thing is for me there are so many different types of energy that without being there to feel it it's impossible to really know!
Energies like slender-man and hat-man seem to me to be more like thought forms given energy by mans attention but...??
You walk in the long grass and wonder why you can not see!!

QUOTE:

"Explanations for shadow people have been drawn from the fields of
parapsychology, metaphysics, cryptozoology, demonology, religion,
and the occult:[1]

Manifest thought form (known in occult circles as egregores or
tulpas): A collection of negative psychic energy, from an area where
a dark or traumatic event has taken place, that has taken on form
and motive, or a similar force that has been intentionally created.
A form of ghost.
A being that has ties to the more "negative" types of alien beings
(the abducting and abusive aliens), and are essentially in control of
these negative aliens; showing the link in agendas amongst certain
alien beings.

An other-dimensional being whose dimension of origin occasionally
overlaps with ours.

Many who attach religious significance to the phenomena apply
more credit to the demonic explanation, especially if it is witnessed
in places said to be haunted or places where an event of extreme
emotional or physical trauma has taken place.

Some observers have made a connection between the black smoke
appearance of these phenomena and the djinn of Islamic belief.
The djinn are described as normally being invisible to humans and
when seen having the appearance of black smoke, making them
very similar in appearance to the phenomena of shadow people.
However, some interpret the phenomena to represent guardian
angels, warning individuals of impending danger as opposed to
negative demonic beings. This could still possibly be linked to the
Islamic belief in djinn because the djinn supposedly have the choice
of committing good or evil acts according to Islamic belief (similar to
man).

In Native American Cherokee mythology, there is an evil witch
known as the Raven Mocker that takes the form of a spectral bird
and shifts into a humanoid, shadow-like phantom. These beings are
said to steal the souls of the ill or dying. Such creatures are alleged
to fear the shaman or medicine man and so do not enter a home
where one resides. A medicine man was sought to watch over the
infirm and also to watch over the bodies of the recently deceased,
as according to myth once the body was buried the Raven Mocker
could not steal the soul.

An unattended shadow or shade (mythology) was thought by some
cultures to be similar to that of a ghost, a flicker of a life unable to
end for some reason. They are sometimes noticed by having their
presence felt or are seen from the corner of a persons eye.
An watcher, sentinal sent form the beings mind to help or drive
insane."

I thought that was interesting.. What about you?
I hate how these threads are.. I wish it would be seperate everytime, instead of in the same box..

I like the other-dimensional being theory a lot...

Again, I think that whatever names we have for them are not necessarily how they would describe themselves. I also think that they could be different individuals, and not all necessarily bad beings just because some have had bad experiences with them. That would be like a shadow being assuming all humans are evil because they met one bad apple.

I saw that there is a book about Djinn and although it does appear to be a bit slanted, I'm at least going to give it a read. I experience shadow being a lot. I'm going to be moving soon, and I really hope that doesn't affect the encounters with them. I hope they follow, because we are both very intrigued by their presence.

Pix/It was a dreadful experience,it felt like my world was no longer, especially when they were yelling codes & wheeling in a crash cart.I'm just happy it's behind us,& God continues to bless our family.I'm hopeing my energy did'nt create such a thing, but how or why?Im usually happy go lucky,a worry wart,& yes I do like debateable things, hmm makes me wonder. My Mamas other half was Onieda,Mohawk,Mama is English,Irish. What a combo,so I guess I have a temper at times, when provoked lol.Hope this answers all,& thank-you.Rose/When are you moveing? And all the best that day, moves can be so stressful. Are you blessing your home before you move in?I wonder why these shadows don't effect you?Just curious,I guess everyone who has had experience is different.Well everyone keep the faith.

I don't think what you experienced were necessarily thought forms could have been grounded energy or any type of negative energy??
As you say thank god that it's over and you and your family have got away and are o.k especially your hubby....I know just how you must have felt, not something anyone wants to go through.
Love your mixed heritage did Dad keep his cultural heritage?....I know you had a really bad time when young I find it hard to get my head around being a Mum myself but you're a survivor...keep your faith.

You walk in the long grass and wonder why you can not see!!
