Your opinion on psychics

Sponsor Messages
If you were to be investigating a haunting or had a paranormal problem of your own, would you bring in a psychic? Would you trust them? I ask because, personally, i wouldn't. Not because i don't believe in psychics but because they really can't get any real evidence, also how would you really know if they are telling the truth or down-right crazy. What are your thoughts?

RE: Your opinion on psychics
While there may be real psychics most claimed psychics use cold reading or shotgun readings. I am against Psychics doing paranormal investigations because even the best so called psychic is at best 80% accurate. Now they are also effected by high emf's and often misinterpret this as a spirit. If you look at pages of teams with psychics they often present extremely poor photography as paranormal. Examples include a finger in front of the lens as a vortex. Insects they claim as fairys and the classic dust orbs as spirits. I see psychics are easily swayed by telling them the history and then they go in and agree with everything. If a team has a psychic they should be kept in the dark as far as what research about the property is, only then if they can pick up on what you know would I even consider mentioning it.

When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence.

RE: Your opinion on psychics
It would be hard for me to believe as well that they really knew what they were doing or just pulling your lag and then they get a big fat wallet from ya.
I do believe in psychics very much and they are real but it is hard to find the real ones and the ones that just on a quest to scam ppl and get money for nothing.

RE: Your opinion on psychics
In early spring I went to a psychic fair and I saw a "psychic". Now some of the things she told me was a complete bullseye!! However have I changed my life around due to what she said.. not really.

I believe psychics have a glimpse of what could be not always of what it. I do think there are real ones out there but they are so hard to find as there are 100 times more fake ones.

Over all in general I will have to say no.. dont really trust them.

As I was told think of them as more of entertainment then as true psychics.

I basically agree with everything you just said.

RE: Your opinion on psychics
Yes I would use one and trust what they tell me.

What would you do if you knew nothing about me, yet I said that I'd protect you with my life, then died doing just that and later you discovered I was someone you would've hated had our paths crossed under different circumstances?

It's all just one big *facepalm* around here.

I heart Sandra Bullock.

RE: Your opinion on psychics
I don't believe in them either but I do have a sister that has a knack of seeing events, or telling if a person is not what they claim, minor things really that we really don't pay any mind to, until it happens.

She doesn't go into any large scale predictions and I think hers is mostly intuition.

RE: Your opinion on psychics
Yes and No. I only have experience to go by. The first time I attempted to visit a pyschic, I was 19 years old. I went into her home based business and walked in a stared at her from behind. She was busy washing dishes...I attempted to say hello 3 or 4 times ... she never heard me....I took this as a sign and I left.

A year ago...I was looking for an apartment for my husband as his alcohlic rages were getting so bad that I was afraid of him at times. I thought he was either possessed or crazy...and since Eastern State would only hold him for 24 hours because he wasn't "crazy". I went to this apartment complex in Lexington...the owner was a woman. After a short conversation she said that she would not rent to me and that I needed to go and see this psychic who had been helping her. I went straight there...but it took 2 days to get in contact with her. I found my husband a 1 room apartment in downtown Lexington that rented it out by the week for $100 a week. I finally got to talk to the psychic. She stated that I was surrounded by demons. I had not told her anything really. After she said that...I very briefly told her about my husband. She said that the demons were more around him. She said he had trouble with his childhood, particularly his mother. This was all true. She told me that the two of us were about to enter q spiritual journey that would change our lives. She wanted a lot of money to help....and out of desperation I paid. I saw her about 4 more times...and then after I told her who I really was, she hasn't bothered me since. You see when she and her husband moved to this town some 30 or so years ago the bank would not give them a loan to buy a house. My grandfather was on the board of the bank and he approached them privately. He bought the house and then sold it to them while he was acting as a bank (aka land contract). I think at that moment she knew she was trying to rip me off and she knew the graciousness that my grandfather had shown them over the years. I'm still glad that I went to see her...as I believe God used her to help put me on the spiritual path that I am on now. It saved my life in many ways. I think she has psychic abilities...but I also think it is about money to her. The reason I decided to tell her who I was is because she kept calling me to come back out...and I knew that God's work there was done...anymore contact would have been wrong. This particular psychic was Catholic. It took 3 visits before I noticed that she had a curio cabinet filled with angels in the room. I was truly under a dark cloud. I still am....but God used her to help remove enough of it for me to begin to see. I now know that I am a warrior....and I am on a spiritual journey that includes fighting the spiritual war in the human plane of life.

RE: Your opinion on psychics
This is a question that I had just been asking myself. I ran across this site about "Spirit Man" Joesph Tittle. I was looking through his site when I seen a link to 2009 predictions. I read them and could not believe some of them were right on. He had said that Micheal Jackson was going to be sick a lot this year with his heart. There were a lot of his predictions that were right on and had already happened. I just don't know.

To me if ur intune with urself and sensative toward others u can sense when some one being honest with u or if somthing bad is about to happen.

I just know from reading the Bible and studing what is written is that only God knows what is instore in our future. So how does someone telling us about the future really work. I do believe that someone who can commicate with spirits could get a vibe from a place if an event had taken place there and there was a spirit who is at unrest that can guide them. But I agree with the fact that they shouldn't charge and they should have no idea what has happened there.
