My Worst Nightmare
Sponsor Messages I do remember one night when I saw something while I was stuck in this state. I made the mistake of leaving my closet door open before I went to bed. My bed is parallel to the door but the door opens enough to where I can still see in. So this night like most others I'm having some terrible dream, which I have learned how to wake myself from. I open my eyes but I can't move my body. I scan the room as much as possible. Everything seems fine until I come tithe closet door. From the corner of my eye I see a pale little girl with an apple peeking from around the door. It was dark in the room, but for some reason she stood out. The apple was I'm a shade of grey as was the girl. It was then I began to panic extremely. My eyes were still locked on this pale girl. She slowly receeded behind my door and I finally was released. That was the first of two times I have seen things while in sleep paralysis. I just wanted to share my story. If you have any questions or comments please post them and I'll respond back as best I can. I would like to know if sleep paralysis can be prevented in any way either by yoga, workouts, mental preparation, anything at all. Thanks for reading. |

RE: My Worst Nightmare
Wow, I can only imagine how scared you must have been. It sounds like something is going on with you, since my experience with sleep paralysis didn't involve seeing anything. I gather from the post that you suffer from nightmares a lot. First of all, and keep in mind, I'm only trying to look at all possibilities, do you take medication of any kind? I ask this because there are many medications that cause nightmares. My oldest daughter suffered from terrible, vivid nightmares when she was on Ritalin, which was one of the many reasons I took her off of it. You say that the experiences with sleep paralysis started when you were around 11 after moving to a new house. Did you have a lot of unresolved anxiety about the move? Lastly, do you have any information about the house and it's history? Even if it's a new home with not many people having lived there before, there could be an impression on the property itself from something that has been there before. I hope to hear more of your experiences as well as this one. It sounds like you might be in tune to something or some energy going on in your home. Good luck and know that everyone here will listen to you.

RE: My Worst Nightmare
Sleep walking is where this element backfires, you are moving in your sleep. The newer sleep aids, prescription, has an affect of allowing you to act normal while dreaming, even to the point of driving a car. Yet, you have no memory of it. But I think lucid dreaming is most likely the culprit here. Characters Environments He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever. (Chinese Proverb) |

RE: My Worst Nightmare
Well, I don't recall having some unresolved anxieties when we moved. The only anxiety was from changing schools and finding new friends, but these where quickly resolved. I am on medication adderall and a sleeping medication, which i've been on dozens of sleep med's simply because most of them seem to add to nighmares. I don't know much about the houses history, except that my room used to be the previous owner's son's room. From what I remember the kid did a lot of drugs. His sister slept in the room next to mine. The two rooms used to be conjoined by a bathroom, but for some reason they changed the bathroom on my side into a big closet and made a shared bath in the main hall. I'll see what I can dig up.
