Are 'spirit guides' & 'guardian angels' the same entity?

I was researching and came across this and it made me wonder if the two are one and the same. Sounds like to me, they are.

I am no expert on Angels so this is just an opinion:

I do not believe any of that really. "Assigned by God to every human being at the time of his or her birth" where did they get that from?

If you look at Angels in the Bible they are terrifying creatures - when they show their "real" selves to people those people die on the spot from terror and fear. The naked babies with wings and the fair haired blue eyed human-looking characters with wings.... those were just artists representations and I dont think they look anything like the real thing.

Also this -- "Angels are the intermediaries between God and mortals" According to the Bible it is the Holy Ghost/Spirit who is the intermediary between God and mortals.

OK lets hear what others have to say about their thoughts on the matter - but as for me I just don't believe in each individual having a guardian Angel - if they did there would be far fewer (if any at all) car wrecks and other accidents and deaths.

I personally have wondered the same thing. Right now i believe that Angels are not another lifefrom, but have been misinterpreted as another lifeform. What are they, perhaps just spiritually evolved human beings.
Do each of us have a Guardian Angel or Guardian spirit? I don't believe we are Aassigned one from birth. But i don't doubt that Family members or passed life friends check in on us from time to time. Especially when we think of them. In times of need, spirits who are bonded to us may well try to help, or just give us there support in there thoughts.


I know some psychics say we have a spirit guide, but logically would good would it do if it followed us around all our lives and we never communicated?

I was researching the different classes of angels and this is not a religious site but a site dedicated to angels and much that is written in not in our standard Bible but the other lost books. It is the first I have read about an angel assigned at our birth. If that is the case, mine has been a little slack.

From what I have learned after growing up in a christian house hold is that demons want us all dead. The reason why we are not all dead is because of the protection of our gaurdian angels. Car wrecks happen only because of man's free will, and angels will not interfere. However, they DO protect us from demons, this I feel strongly about.

According to a friend of mine, you have seven spirit guardians, (or was it 9...) Two of them stay with you throughout life as your sort of "guardian angels" while the other one's change depending on what kind of person you are. I know one of mine is a Raven. Haven't found out what the other one was. My friend is Native American (Cherokee<SP?>) by blood and is really into her shamanism.

I view spirit guides as teachers more than anything else,
& from what I know of angels they're supposed to deliver messages
for God(by various means) & fight evil/protect God's people(by various
means as well). They lean more towards help in saving things like your soul,
your bodily health & safety. They just do what God tells them to do.
Spirit Guides do just that; they guide you & teach you as you go on
life's journey. If harm can be used for good, then they'll let it pass.
Yeah they can protect, but they're more about teaching IMO.

I think they are different and one can have both without any conflict between the services each serves.
