Our shadow visits
Sponsor Messages I was putting on my makeup in the bathroom. I heard a sloshing sound coming down the hall. It sounded like someone with wet clothes on. I look in the mirror and this thing is walking past, down the hallway. It was little over six foot tall and heavy set. It was facing straight ahead. Never looked my way. No distinct profile. Similar to a cloak, but more like a black blanket thrown over it’s head. I have never seen anything like it before. I was standing there thinking, what was that!! I checked all the rooms in that direction, nothing. Only other person home was in the opposite end of the house and didn’t see anything. I was not scared. Just baffled. We had visited a couple of locations a few days earlier, but do not believe anything came home with us. No bad feelings or anything. This happened on March 8th, and nothing before that or since. |

RE: What Are Shadow Entities?
We visit sites probably once a month or so. The most recent trip was to a very old cemetery in Long Beach, ca. and then by a park that once was a cemetery. We have been to both these locations on numerous occasions. The public neighborhood park was once a full on cemetery. The city decided to remove the tombstones and make a park. Only thing is they left the bodies, not very cool in my eyes. It on the net,I have researched it. In fact the city has official information on it. It is in Whittier, ca. It is called Founders Park. Some call it ‘dead man’s park’. I prefer to use Founders Park as the name out of respect for the occupants. Call me weird, but I like cemeteries. I find them relaxing. Except founders. It almost always drains you. We visited that day to check emf’s to see that was the reason for the draining feeling.
As I mentioned in my prior post, I do not believe anything followed us home. We have an acquaintance that is always freaking out that we bring things home, she doesn’t even live here!!! I tell her to knock it off, but you know some people can’t shut up. She drives me nuts. Our home is very peaceful. There hasn’t been any tension or stress then normal everyday stuff. In fact we live a pretty boring life. No drama. A few years ago you would of gotten a different answer, but nothing now. As far as the shadow thing goes, it was very real. I had a clear view of it. It was only, maybe two feet from me. There is no way it was my imagination. I wasn’t scared at all. I wonder, did it know I was there? Paranormal activity doesn’t bother me. I am a realist. I am always seeking answers. Either reading books or researching. No matter what the subject. We enjoy doing paranormal activities, but do not let our minds create things that are not there. Sometimes I think we are so busy debunking things, we fail to enjoy the trip. |

Another visit
One night last week I was awoken by my 17yr old daughter standing at the foot of my bed telling me that someone was in the house. She is not one to make things up. I figured I better investigate. I glanced at the clock as I was getting out of bed, it was 2:22am. After turning on all the lights, checking the doors, and walking the house, nothing was there. I was told someone came out of my room and went down the hallway. Our bedroom doors are across from each other at the end of the hallway. We all went back to bed. The next morning I started asking her questions. She told me that she thought it was me at first, but did not hear me doing anything and I never came back to my room. She said she does not know what woke her up. She does not remember hearing anything, just woke up. She felt no fear, until she realized it was not me. She said what she saw was very dark, could not make out any detail. I was told that she was unable to see a side profile, no nose or chin. It looked like it was wearing a hood. She told me it kinda cut the corner of the doorway when it came out of my room. (I giggled inside thinking, I can do a lot of things, but walking through walls is not one of them) Even though as a family we have always believed in the other side and visit interesting locations, we only discussed the shadow person I saw in March a couple of times in her presence (I do not want her to feel unsafe in her home). She thought it was more cool than being frightened. When I saw the shadow person back in March, it was much larger, not my size. I always have described it as having a blanket thrown over it, never a hood. She told me the one she saw definitely had a hood. Showed her a couple of sites I had found on the web. She pointed at the one with the hood, not the hat, and said, “that’s it, but littler”. Now she is asking me, “Are they the ones taken our stuff than putting it back in plain view?”. Or messing with the tv? Our cable box has been messing up for the last couple of years. We keep exchanging the boxes, even got a new tv. The tv will only go out during the most important part of a show, i.e. elimination during reality shows, how money is spent during Trading Spouses, etc. Just two days ago it went out during the NBA playoffs. It usually will pop back on after about ten minutes, but that is too late for the show’s ending! We have discussed that there is nothing to fear. Nothing scary or threatening has happened. I would like to investigate/communicate with whatever is here, but I do not want to open a can of worms. I do not want all heck to break loss in the house. I do not mind them being here, but what/who is it? We have lived here for many years. We have only seen two of them in the last couple of months. Wish they would show themselves when more than one of us could see them at a time. Or do they not even realize we are here. Maybe we are in their space! People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within. ~Elisabeth Kübler-Ross |

RE: Another visit
The moving around of objects then putting them back in plain sight, is classic poltergeist activity. The literal translation means "noisy spirit" and they are famous for being pranksters. If there is a teenage girl in the house, especially between 12 and 14, the activity can greatly increase due to the many hormonal changes going on at that age. Your 17 year old is really past the age of where it is common, but poltergeists can happen at any time. The shadow figure is an image I have seen many times in many homes I've lived in. When I was growing up, my mother, who tends to be skeptical even with the experiences she's had, remembers very vividly a hooded figure standing at the partition between our two living rooms. It was one night when she had fallen asleep on the couch. She woke up and checked all the doors before she went upstairs to bed. She was just about to check the basement door when she saw the figure between the rooms. It was pointing toward the basement. From what Mom told me, she was fully awake and knows what she saw. I used to find shadow figures unsettling, but I have become used to them. If it is demonic in nature, everything in the home is covered with negative energy. It is like trying to walk through a fog. It doesn't sound like anything like that is going on. Poltergeists are not demonic, but they can be harmful in that accidents can be caused by some of their antics. Please let us know how things are going

RE: Another visit
Quote:The word "poltergeist" came from the German word "poltern," which means to "rumble", "bluster", or "jangle", and "geist," which means "spirit." "Poltern" can also be used in describing an act of speech: speaking loudly and abrasively. Although poltergeist literally means "noisy spirit," a poltergeist is neither a spirit nor a ghost according to paranormal and parapsychology experts. Usually described as an invisible force and entity, the nature of poltergeists has long been a subject of debate within paranormal circles. RE: Another visit
well i felt i should explain that this story is about me. im the 17 yr old who sees the shadow people! ahah. well here's what actually happened (i mean it in such a nicer way then it sounds, nothing she said wasn't what happened but i also am not the best at explaining anything when in a frantic but its been a few months so im good
)so that day i was sleeping and im normally a pretty solid sleeper, i rarely get up in the middle of the night. that night i got up at about 2:15 am, i adjusted my eyes to see the time on my phone and thought "hm thats weird, ill just go back to sleep" i put my phone down and laid there for not more then 30 seconds and this thing bolts out of my parents room. it was short, slender, and very fast. it came out their door way (in a very unnatural way, if it were to make that tight of a turn it would have a nice bruise from a door handle) and went down the hall. i was laying down so i do not know if it ran or glided but how smoothly it went, it had to have glided. it was very very fast. well at 2:18 ish i am not exactly the most with it in the mental capacity department so my natural instinct was "LET SOMEONE ELSE DEAL WITH IT!" so i shot up and ran to their room and woke up my mom and yelled "AHH SOMETHING WENT DOWN THE HALL! AHHHHHH" maybe a bit longer of an ahhhhh. but she got up after looking at me like i was a bit insane and why am i up at 2:20 and turned on all the lights and saw nothing. she told me just to go back to bed. and i started thinking im insane and ive really lost it this time. the next morning i woke up and honestly tried to play it off a little at first. like i thought "if i dont bring up me going insane, she wont bring it up". well she did ahah. it was probably for the best though. she started asking questions about what i saw and brought up what she saw a few months ago. with out her saying what she saw, i described the figure as short, black, hooded, skinny, you could tell it was a human but could not see definition. she told me that i probably saw what is known as a shadow figure. when i realized i wasn't totally insane and whacked, i thought it was pretty cool. but that was not the end of my shadow figure experiences; about 3 weeks ago i was taking a shower when getting ready for school and walked out of the bathroom (the bathroom that is my parents bedroom where i originally saw the one figure come out of) i was checking my face to see how bad my acne is. i turned to walk out of the room and there was this HUGE GINORMOUS GIANT of a man (well i imagine a man due to how broad his shoulders were) looking at me. As soon as i was about to panic that im in a room and really only have shoes as a weapon and i just got out of the shower, it glided off into the hall. This happened in about 3 seconds, i do not really remember if i saw a face. i think i did but i think i may be picturing seeing a face since i associate human figures with faces. but it was the same sort of shadow like black figure as the thing that ran out of their room a few months before. i figured maybe it could be my dad but i quickly bolted out of the room and he was sitting in the living room and no way he could be where he was if it was him and he isnt about 7 foot tall. i had no time to really think about it since i did have to get ready for class soon. i personally do not feel "scared" to see them after i realize it is them, but before i realize it (especially the night one) it does freak me out a bit. i know they can not hurt you, but both times i did not realize at first if it was a real human which if it would have been that could have been bad. ohh and sorry for bumping such an old thread! ahh i hope you guys don't mind! but i figured since its a paranormal forum and well there was a thread about my only sightings, i should just post there. |

RE: Another visit
I'm glad this thread was brought up again...and I'm glad you told us things from your point of view. I know, they can seem scary, especially before you realize what they are...and even when you do, they can still startle you! ( and I LOVE the word Ginormous!!)
