Astral Travel Experiment - Try It Out

yeah they probably would fit you for a jacket. When i was into all this stuff years ago and after astrally travelling I remember my daughter's friend coming round called, Stanny. He was only about 17 or 18, but was like an old man the way he looked, that's why we called him Stanny. Anyway, there were afew of us in my lounge doing levitation on me, which worked. As soon as Stanny knocked on the door and we opened it, he was ushered onto the chair so we could levitate him. Talk about shocked, he looked at us like we were all barking mad, but we were right into it as it was amazing.

I kinda calmed down after that as he would ring first to check me and my mates weren't in before he came

In my book, the Curse, the heroine uses astral travel to defeat the demon. While she is astral projecting, the demon steals her body and takes it to Hades, where our hero has only 24 hours to rescue it before Myra's body dies because it does not have its spirit.

I myself have never tried it and the information in the book comes from research and not from my experiences.

Well, that's just put me right off I'll be thinking about demons as i'm about to astral travel. Don't think i'm going to do it after all. I'm a bit like Shastar, i might see a spirit and i'm not that keen on seeing one to be honest.

I know someone who swears by it called, (ID name) Mamaloves, who posted some comments under my astral travel post on my site. She says it's fantastic and has never had a bad experience.

Your book sounds really interesting.

The experience you have will depend upon your own individual personality and disposition.

For those who do this and believe that they are traveling outside their bodies I suggest a small experiment:

When you lay down have someone else place an object somewhere in the room. It must be something that you do not know that is you dont know what was chosen. OR have that person write something on a card or sheet of paper and place it upon something.

Next - when you travel 'out of your body' go over and read the note or check to see what object was placed there. If you did in deed leave your body and float around the room you should have no problem at all in dong this.

Similar "test" have been done literally thousands of times in some major Universities and so far no one has ever beem able to do this simple task. In fact one University in California (can't recall the name now) was offering a huge cash reward for anyone who could do this.

I was going to do this the following night, as you suggested, writing something down. I was going to go and read what my then husband had written, by astrally travelling down the stairs and then reading it.

I bottled it though, as i had a very strange dream the morning after doing my astral travel. I dreamt that an old woman was sat on my bed looking at me. She had something like a veil draping over her head. Her eyes were dark and she said in a horrible voice, 'I can't wait for tomorrow night.'

I was planning on astral travellling that night, not 'tomorrow night' as the woman in the dream had said. Anyway, it was enough to put me off at the time, but lately i've wanted to try it again. Don't think i dare though.

Eyepriestess, that is truly scary. I hope that when I try astral projection that doesn't happen. Didn't someone else have almost the exact same experience too? I can't remember where I read it, but the description fit almost to the "T" so...

Astral travel is really fascinating to me. I researched it about ten years ago. Read multiple books.

Then I read somewhere that when you leave your body that another spirit could inhabit it. When you return, your body has been occupied.

That scarred the daylights out of me and I never tried it. If there was a way to safeguard my body, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Has anyone else heard of this?

It seems that there is some kind of a prayer for protecting the physical body while the spirit astrally travels. I think I may ask Eyepriestess to visit this thread when she gets on here. She would know maybe what we're wondering about, Ali.

A description of an astral flight from the Curse.

Her spirit lifts up and separates from the sleeping girl, while suspended in mid air over the still form, Mariah calls. “Myra, come with me.” She extends her hand and Myra's astral body reaches out its own hand and takes it.
Both figures are clothed in fabric as sheer as spider’s silk and with their hair flowing as a colorless scarf in a strong wind, looking down they both sees Myra physical body asleep in her bed.
“Am I dead?” Myra wonders.
“No,” answered Mariah, their thoughts being transferred without spoken words, now the spirits depart.

With this, the two spirits levitate through the ceiling and Adrian falls back to sleep.
Higher and higher, they sore as eagles on silence wings, time stands still and the Earth is surreal. They are able to see where there is no light, hear where there is no sound, feel with their minds and taste the wind. They speed along with the swiftness of light, seeing lifetimes passing before them, seeing the past, and seeing the future. They feel no cold, no heat, no discomforts…only the pleasure of being so completely free that there is nothing in the Universe to compare with it. They look down at the Earth flying beneath their feet, up at the heaven and the stars are moving, each one in its given place in the sky. The sky itself is a deep,, blue velvet and the clouds are puffs of spun silver threads. The moon glows white, sending spirals of radiant, silvery moonbeams down to the sleeping Earth. They soar even further, leaving the Earth behind, taking a tour of the outer-most planets, close to the very Sun, where in another form they would have perished long ago. They anticipate its heat but there is none, there are comets roaming the heaven minding their own existence, keeping to their own paths, as with the order of a superior Being. There are other astral bodies traveling here all with the magnificent glory of Mariah and Myra.
It is time for the return trip to Earth and for Myra to her physical self. As promised to Adrian, they arrived just as the sun is peeping over the horizon, turning the shy to crimson. Mariah escorts Myra to her bed. She lowers herself down to her body then back into herself, and immediately she is sleeping soundly. Mariah bids her farewell and retreats to the Manor house.
