RE: Terrified Woman From Another Universe Wakes Up Here
Interesting...this got me looking to different brain issues that might cause something like this to happen. It sounds like she has been to doctors, but I wonder if she has been tested for dementia. Reading the symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia, which often shows up in early stages of Parkinson's disease...and some of what she is describing including visuospatial issues and hallucinations are some of the first signs to the disease progressing.
Either that or she's more full of it than a Christmas turkey..... RE: Terrified Woman From Another Universe Wakes Up Here
There is another hypothesis however that no one has brought up. If it is a case of the multiverse, which physicists are now perusing the possibilities over, possibly it isn't this woman who is experiencing a strange plane of existence...but instead it was the new boyfriend who seems to have vanished and never existed. Life as it is for her has for the most part returned to the time previous to him entering the picture. Again it's simply a hypothesis. I think she should follow up with her doctor and continue with psychological care myself. For the sceptic, no evidence no matter how scientific will ever be proof enough. ~John Zaffis |

That is interesting. Not going to lie, there's this part of me that thinks it sounds like a movie plot BUT..that is not to say the studies aren't taking place. Or that the possibility of alternate realities is invalid. There are those things that have happened which just don't quite fit...and while in my opinion, this case isn't one of them, you do bring up an interesting point for discussion. (and one that I will have to brush up on!)

RE: Terrified Woman From Another Universe Wakes Up Here
Well, it is a very interesting story. It has never happened to me or anyone around me, or for that matter anyone I know on this planet.
I'd like to focus on the loss of memory, as I have been forced to acknowledge it in my life. I can recall things I've seen, and known from forty years ago, and some even further. I have memory that extends to a time when I was only two years old. Now, something a little bit disturbing to me. I had an appointment with my doctor. I have no memory of waking, dressing, driving to my appointment, and the examination the doctor made. I "woke" up while I was lowering my car that was still on a jack, having replaced a flat tire. I was on the East side of town. I live far West of the town. Recently, I was sent to a hospital to have an ultra-sound performed. I recall about 30 seconds of time while I was being examined. I was experiencing some pain because of the way I was being handled. I told the person working on me that they seemed to be hitting a lot of places that made me feel pain. I don't have any memory of how or when I got to the hospital, and I haven't got a clue about how I got dressed or even how I got back home. It seems like someone has been wiping my memory clean. I can function, but that is no guarantee that I'll be able to recall anything. I once went to bed on a Tuesday evening, but I didn't "wake up" until Friday night. I'm not saying I slept for days, rather I've lost yet a bigger chunck of time. I recognize other things like having a conversation, and suddenly I can't recall the subject of the conversation. I'm only 55 years old. I feel like I'm suffering from an affliction of someone 30 or 40 years older than me. So far, everyone I know is still around. That is reassuring.
Forgiveness is next to deity. |

About the topic, could be a multiverse thing.. Or perhaps someone has tampered with the time continuim. Im sure that it was time travelers. **NOw to go read the article** That was a really good article, that would be CRRAAAZZZYY. I would only hope that I was incredibly wealthy in whatever multiverse I slid to. There are many interesting experiences on that page. http://www.myspace.com/relicrip |

RE: Terrified Woman From Another Universe Wakes Up Here
I feel bad for the other woman if it was a body change.
Wow Jeff. I am over 50 too and what you are describing needs to be looked at. Talk to a doctor. Other than that, I would think about medications. Morphine whacks my dad out so bad they had to tie him down for days after his by-pass. He remembered nothing. Anti-depressants? Got to watch them. Zoloft had me loosing time. Or I was in a different universe. In that case it stunk because I don't remember if I had any fun. JK, but it did mess me up. Change in diet maybe? Or yes, you may have a medical problem but there are newer treatments out all the time for about everything. Last, do like I do when I forget something. You just ask a kid because they know it all. Or so they think. ![]() T & P from here.
