Hi heatherlynn! Glad to hear from you.

Okay, the boys screaming and the cold in the room would be really freaking me out! I'm guessing you have looked for any possible area where a draft might be coming through. I know the feeling you're talking about...the "being watched" feeling that you are not alone. I know your husband is very skeptical, but doesn't he think all of this is in the least bit weird? My dad is very skeptical as well, but at the same time, he never denied that there was something going on in our home that he couldn't explain.

i have checked for drafts. their room is actually two rooms. separated by a door. the one closest to the stairs is where they sleep, the other room is used as their play room. the door is kept shut when they are sleeping. a draft does blow from under the door so we ALWAYS keep a blanket shoved under it. their window has one of those cold protector blinds on it so i know there isn't one coming from there. so there are no drafts what so ever in their room. he says that they just don't want to sleep. okay..if they just didn't want to sleep why would they be screaming like that? why would they hold onto us like they are absolutely terrified? and WHY would it be so cold? he's a huge but hole...

Frustrating isn't it? I'm glad you feel comfortable coming here about it. You say they wake up screaming...are they able to tell you anything about what is making them scream? Is it dreams or are they seeing something that makes them afraid?

they're still too little to tell us. they're only 15 months old. i'm not sure what would give them nightmares though. they never watch anything remotely scary. my mom is going to spend the night here and help me figure out what is wrong.

I'm glad your mom is with you...I'm sure that gives you a lot of comfort. From the way your post sounds, your mom is at least open to the fact that something strange is going on.

well...we did it last night. nothing really happened. the only odd thing was that it got REALLY cold for a few minutes and then that was it. i was getting a shower tonight and i heard someone come into the bathroom. i figured it was hubby so i pulled the shower curtain back to poke my head out...nobody was there. the door was wide open. so i went back to washing my hair and heard the door creak again. i poked my head back out in time to SEE IT CLOSING!!! after i was finished i went into the living room and asked hubby what he wanted while i was showering. he just looked at me and said "what are you talking about?" i said "you came into the bathroom when i was showering...did you need something?" he just gave me this confused look and told me "i've been down here working on my site. i never went into the bathroom." so i said "oh it must have been venus." he turned the chair he was sitting in around to show the cat curled up and sleeping in his lap. he told me she'd been there for a good half hour snoozing.

Hi heatherlynn! I was wondering how it went.

Just a thought to consider as far as a natural explanation for that...is there the slightest possibility that the door didn't latch right? In my house, the door to my bathroom doesn't shut all of the way without hook latch from the inside...otherwise the door will sway back and forth with even the slightest movement..including someone walking across the floor.

The only thing I can really suggest is to continue to speak aloud to any spirit that might be there and let them know they aren't welcome. You have no desire to communicate with them. If your husband is dead set convinced that none of this is paranormal, then say it when you are alone. But be firm...and pray to your higher power for the positive energy needed. Any fear or wavering you have can potentially feed anything that might be harmful. Let them know this is your home and your life...you are in charge. Pray to the Archangel Michael (the short version of the prayer is on one of the pages of this thread) for protection against anything demonic.

I am sending good thoughts your way, heatherlynn...I hope you can find some peace from this. There is a lot out there that we flat don't understand...and what isn't understood can sometimes bring fear. We don't have to understand it all to know that we are able to take charge of our homes and lives when anything negative tries to creep in.

all of our doors shut with a click and we always make sure to pull them shut tight so i know it wasn't the doors. in fact the bathroom door sticks so you have to push hard on it to open it.

some of them i don't mind. it's the one(s) that give me "that" feeling i don't like or want. i've told the "bad" ones to leave but i don't think they listened to me. the cat and the man that i saw i don't get the bad vibe from them. i get a really sad feeling when they're around. i did do a bit of research on the house. i wasn't able to get an info on previous owners (since i don't "own" the house i'm not allowed to have access to that information...at least that's what the mean woman at the county clerks building told me). what i did find was that the house was built in 1916 and if i read correctly has only had 3 or 4 owners since then.

so the house is old. it went from a single family home to an apartment back to a single family home. i just wish i could get info on the previous tennants and owners. i'd ask the guy who owns it now but hubby told me not to even hint at ghosts to him. lol.

Probably afraid it will cause probs with the landlord....I can see why he would think that. I am continuing to send good thoughts your way, and even though you don't feel that all of this energy has gone away, I firmly believe that whatever might be there knows you are on to it, and you're not going to surrender your home. That may be why there is the sad feeling...I believe...and this is just my opinion, I don't know that I am right...that negative entities will do whatever they can to fill you with a feeling of darkness. This I believe is done to break your spirit...and I will continue praying that your spirit stays strong.

Have you been to the library? You might check the city records there...most of them should be a matter of public record. You could get names for that particular address...and find out what you can about those names, including obituaries.

Good thoughts to you! I hope you are able to find out something.
