Scary Stories to tell in the Dark
Sponsor Messages But regardless, if you love horror, urban legends, and scary stories to tell around a campfire, these are a must have for your bookshelf. Okay, i just found this out and now i feel like a tool. Apparently, scholastic has changed the illustrations in modern versions of this book. The original illustrator was Stephen Gammell. The pictures he created were surreal, frightening nightmares come to life on paper. The new illustrator is Bret Helquist. He illustrated the Series of unfortunate events books. I like his stuff, he's good but he can't top the originals. You can view his stuff on his website. His stuff is more.... practical? for a children's book. How can you change something that's been the way it was for thirty years? When i wake up everything will be all right... |

RE: Scary Stories to tell in the Dark
I remember reading these was when I was young also. I can still remember the first time I saw the image of the dead bride who had locked herself in the trunk and suffocated. Creepy stuff.
