Odd photo from Père Lachaise Cemetery
Sponsor Messages 3 months ago I made loads of pictures on the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. After watching Ghost Hunters International today, I felt inspired searching for ghost images on my pictures. And I actually noticed something odd in one of the pictures. It might just be a sunray. But there's more going on in the area of the ray to give it a second look. Also, there's an odd shape in the middle of the photo. I would like to get some opinions from people about this. Could there be ghosts in this picture? ![]() The picture as a whole. ![]() The ray ![]() The ray closer ![]() A face? ![]() Looks like a person. |

I see a ray from the sun.

The looks like a person while very pixelated appears to me at least to be a cross. When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence. |

RE: Odd photo from Père Lachaise Cemetery
Beautiful pictures..I do love that cemetery and would like to visit it someday. It does look like reflections of the stonework in the cemetery from the rays of the sun. I see a lot of opportunities for matrixing faces, but nothing that really stands out too much. Absolutely gorgeous examples of cemetery art in Pere Lachaise for sure.

RE: Odd photo from Père Lachaise Cemetery
It's indeed probably nothing. Too bad!
Does anyone know the best way to photograph ghosts? I have a rather good camera with lots of different options for the ISO, light etc etc. But I never know which one to use for these things

Now I will add settings depend on when you plan on shooting pictures and if you shoot with a tripod or not. If you do most of your photography outside during the day use the lowest number ISO. Also shoot in the highest mega pixel you have. This allows you to zoom in without extreme pixelation, something some people do to cause pareidolia so they can claim captures. At night use a 400 or 800 ISO Flash all the way up. Most claimed ghost pictures are long exposures that are explainable. Anything with a 1/4 second or longer exposure can blur movement, add a mist, allow camera movement. Avoid shooting windows, mirrors, shiny surfaces but if you can't know what highly reflective surfaces can do. There are articles here for basic settings but the best thing you can do is study so you understand what the different settings do. Remember every camera can vary slightly. I also recommend reading reviews of your camera to see if people experience bad traits. Do not use night scene if your camera has it unless you use a tripod. This is the newest mistakes I see made as this automatically gives a long exposure. Download a free program called photome so you can see your exif information then when you get a good or bad picture use it to look at your pictures so you can see what is different. Example if you are shooting in the daylight and getting washout look at the histogram to determine if your getting to much light. Go to twitter and start following some of the different photographers, they often write articles on tips and tricks including low cost filters. When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence. |
