Scrying

Sponsor Messages
For those of you who haven't heard of it, Scrying is the process by where a person sits in front of a mirror, in a darkened room, and focuses for several minutes on the image of their face. Over time, the person should be able to see the face of a spirit, superimposed over their own.

I was wondering... has anybody here tried scrying? What did you think of it? Do you know anybody who has tried it? What where the results?

I am just curious!

RE: Scrying
I use scrying, tho I'm not good at it LOL. Its a good concentration practice

Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.

RE: Scrying
I have a very dear friend who enjoys reading Tarot cards (never for money), dowsing, and all of that. We disagree on many things, but she had something interesting to say about scrying. When she tried it, she wasn't too impressed, because she said that anytime you focus on an image long enough, especially a reflective one, there are all kinds of matrixed images that will appear. She tried the same thing with other reflective surfaces and got the same result.

I would be interested in hearing from others who have had any kind of real result with it. As with many things, I think the popular definitions have taken some away from the original practices of it.

RE: Scrying
I have heard of a few different methods when scrying. Most involve a black reflective surface. Now one method is to sit outside during a full moon and set your plate so the moon is visible in it. Then concentrate. the other is have a candles reflection dancing in it. Then just stare till pareidolia kicks in ....what? did you think I was going to say till a spirit shows up?

When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence.

RE: Scrying
LOL UNR. I use it more as a focal point for relaxation exercises. I've never been successful and getting spirits to appear

RE: Scrying
See, that's what I was wondering...is this something that had a root in a simple meditative practice and the "spiritualists" took it over and made it about spirits? Or did it start out that way? Again, it's something I've heard more about than actually researched. Although...it's making me want to see just how far back it goes!
