What is your favorite type of movie horror?

I prefer movies about spirits/hauntings. A few I like are The Others, Sixth Sense, and Blair Witch. I realize most people did not care for Blair Witch. I liked that it was not overproduced. No scenes were scary separately. It was the acclimation of events that caused your mind to perceive the events as scary.

Slasher movies seem to all have a similar theme. Perpetrator enters the dwelling.... victim always runs upstairs or into an enclosed area. I find myself yelling at them to make a different choice. They never listen, and meet their demise.

I liked everything about Blair Witch project except Heather..she annoyed me badly. But the premise was cool. I felt badly for the town that was supposed to be the "real" home to the Blair Witch that got the gawkers, but the movie was actually a good idea..one that has been redone a lot with horror movies. PA1 and 2, The Last Exorcism, and Death of a Ghost Hunter were all ones I liked because I watched them in the context of a movie..not something that speaks for paranormal evidence or anything.

I have noticed that since Blair Witch, they are being more vague about actual locations, or creating ficticious ones. Like in Last Exorcism, they make reference to the preacher being from Baton Rouge, but the town where the exorcism takes place, Ivanwood, doesn't exist.

I watch slasher movies for fun, lol. They're so predictable and it usually ends up with a bunch of friends of mine and I yelling at the screen and throwing popcorn at the dingbat who screams through the whole movie and is the only one that DOESN'T get gutted.
