Encounters with God
Sponsor Messages Just curious: Now there's several different places that this thread could go on this website but seeing as this one includes angel encounters and demon encounters I figured I'd just place it here. To say it bluntly, has anyone ever encountered God? Whatever you believe Him to be, or however it happened either through a voice inside you or externally. Or perhaps a sign or maybe in a near death experience? Or maybe you outright saw and interacted with Him (which would probably be VERY RARE and life altering). Just wondering TempleofTime |

RE: Encounters with God
It has been my experience that when God talks to you, his voice comes from within you. When an Angel or Spirit Guide talks to you, the voice is beside you. It is a very distinct difference, and you will know it when you hear it. I hope this helps you.

RE: Encounters with God
has anyone ever encountered God?
In what way and how?. What would you define an encounter with God as?. Surely everyones definition is different. To give you an example I frequently have moments when I'm out walking in the mountains where I feel an overwhelming feeling of happiness and joy that I'm lucky enough to be alive, seeing what I'm seeing and experiencing that exact moment. Would that be classed as feeling the Holy Spirit rush through me or just feeling Gods love?. If I were a Christian I'd probably say it was an encounter with God but I'm not, I'm an atheist so does that diminish the experience because I've not attributed it to God?. I have several friends who are devout Christians. I respect them and value them as much as I would anyone despite their beliefs. They have related their encounters with God on numerous occasions because I've asked them to. What they describe to me is in no way dramatically different from what I've described on here. That doesn't mean I'm right and they're wrong by the way. DB Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence |
