RE: Dead baby or Live Baby Found in Cemetery
Erm...yeah, that is weird, especially since they were both found in bags and both found in cemeteries. Very odd..and very sad.

RE: Dead baby or Live Baby Found in Cemetery
This brings to mind a case here locally many years back. A young girl of maybe 15 years of age hid a pregnancy, gave birth in her basement and wrapped the baby in a blanket and a trash bag and then hid it in the corner. The baby suffocated and died, and the young woman was convicted of murder. It was along time ago and I can't for the life of me remember her name. Who know what she would have done with it later on...
Since then the laws have changed here in Ohio. Anyone at anytime can safely surrender their live baby (or child of any age) at any hospital in the state, anonymously and without fear of conviction for neglect or abandonment charges. The child will be taken in by social services and then adopted by a famiy looking to adopt. I always wonder how many cases like this are young women who just don't know what else to do. A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. ~Friedrich Nietzsche Feel free to tell me what you need and I will tell you how to get by without it. ~Mom For the believer, both the evidence of science and the failure of science to explain the paranormal is all the proof they need. For the sceptic, no evidence no matter how scientific will ever be proof enough. ~John Zaffis |

RE: Dead baby or Live Baby Found in Cemetery
The "Safe Haven" law..Illinois passed it in 2001. And yes, it is sad that anyone would feel they had no other choice but to just leave their baby to die. It's very easy to say the choice could have been made nine months prior..that is a given. But what is important in these cases is the children and giving an opportunity for the child to stay safe and alive..no questions asked.

RE: Dead baby or Live Baby Found in Cemetery
Keeper, unfortunately the human mind is a rather dark place at times. No matter what the year or century, there are just somethings that people carry over and that includes unwed pregnancies. Sometimes, a woman just doesn't see any other way out of it.
Sad, but tru. Roses Haven A Blog of a Strange Mind Roses Story Heaven Where stories find their home. |

I wonder why a cemetery? It is very sad.

RE: Dead baby or Live Baby Found in Cemetery
the pregnant mind and the mind of a new mother can sometimes be a dark one. Expecially for young mothers at times. Sometimes they can be in such a state of denial (expecially if they have been hiding the pregnancy) that when they give birth, they just toss it aside (litterally)
Its pretty sad and morbid
Faeries, come take me out of this dull world, For I would ride with you upon the wind, Run on the top of the dishevelled tide, And dance upon the mountains like a flame. (William Butler Yeats, "The Land of Heart's Desire," 1894) |
