My Story...and yes, I'd never use one again.
Sponsor Messages About 4 months ago I was bored one evening and took out my Ouija board & pendulum (I use a pendulum with the Ouija because I use it alone and the planchette just seems to not work for me--feels weird I guess). I asked some questions (obviously just yes or no ones), nothing was happening until I got it in my mind to ask to speak to my great grandmother. Something seemed to click with that and the pendulum was really moving toward the yes or the no with every question I asked. Well,...at that moment I heard my husbands car pulling into the garage, and I didn’t want to have him see me using the board (not sure why), so I quickly put everything away, fast! Two nights later, things started happening to me. I didn’t think anything about it at first. I started having nightmares so real that I’d wake up in a cold sweat, and so real that I feel a presence (ghostly, demonic, not sure what) is with me when I wake up from them. These nightmares remind me of the kind I used to get when I was living in the haunted house I grew up in, VERY VIVID. Then I started noticing some sort of black shadow out of the corner of my eyes, I’d look and it would be gone. I have one cat here, so I thought it was her that I was seeing and didn’t think much of it until one night around 4am, when I woke up from one of my nightmares. As I opened my eyes I saw a black mist/ball kind of thing blacker than black in color, right beside my bed. My cat was sleeping at the end of the bed and I noticed she was looking at it too! I didn’t see it for long, it sort of sunk into the floor and poof, it was gone. I told my husband about it the next day (he’s pretty open minded about the paranormal, but has never really had anything happen to him). He told me he has been feeling “eyes” on him in the early morning hours when he gets ready for work. He said he thought it was our cat looking up at him, but when he’d turn his head to look, the cat was never there. He said it was like seeing a black shadow move quickly away. Good god, typing this I realize I have left so many other things out here. Some mornings I get woken up by hearing something whisper in my ear (and it’s definitely not my husband!), whispering, “die,...die,...die.” in my ear (always my right ear). I see the same man in these nightmares over & over. Always with a sort of evil grin, and in my sleep when he arrives I know I’d better get back to my body (as if I’m having an OBE), and wake up, because something bad is going to happen to it if I don’t (if that even makes sense to anyone). I also have felt some “thing” touching my hair and my head on numerous occasions, always around 4am. A couple of nights ago I woke up feeling a black sort of cloth swirling around my head (maybe not a “cloth”, words can’t describe the feeling). And last night I woke up at 3:33am and felt the goosebumps and felt a sickness in the pit of my stomach like never before, and knew somehow that something was looking at me (from where, I don’t know). This is the really freaky part, after one of my nightmares, I’ll wake up and see, (awake here but with my eyes shut), demonic looking faces staring at me. One face will morph into another & another. I feel like something “demonic”, if you will, has attached itself to me. There's a lot more to the story (a whole lot more), but I feel that I’ve gone on too long here as it is. I’ve used the Ouija board before and never thought much of it. I’ve dabbled in the occult off & on and have had things happen (paranormal wise), but never on this level or intensity. I’m tired all the time now and never sleep through the night. I need help here and I’m not sure what to do. ![]() |

RE: My Story...and yes, I'd never use one again.
First things first, my mother told me never to use a Ouija board by myself ( she still to this day refuses to have one in her house) She says there nothing but bad luck. And that I can vouch for. By you scrambling to put the board away, it wasn't properly closed. I'm not sure how to properly close it & all because the experience I had wasn't from my Ouija board.
But there is some way to properly close the board. And after finding out how to do it everything should subside, if it doesn't consult your local church and speak to a priest about coming out to your home. Explain to him what's been happening & tell him the specific times and etc.. I do wish you the best of luck, hopefully this haunting nightmare will fade once the board is closed properly & or a priest comes to your home. Life is not measured by how many breaths you take, but by how many moments in life that take your breath away.

RE: My Story...and yes, I'd never use one again.
Have you thought about alternative explanations for the experiences you're describing?. Looking at them rationally and critically may throw a different perspective on them - a perspective that doesn't involve the supernatural, evil shadows demonic faces. If you'd like me to elaborate on what I've posted please feel free to ask but I hope you overcome these obviously troubling feelings. DB Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence |

RE: My Story...and yes, I'd never use one again.
First, I never, ever recommend using a ouija board and secondly Especially when using a pendulum for divination. A ouija can open the lines of communication with the otherside...and you can never be certain what spirit will be happening through that may answer you. Remember demons lie. They will tell you they are a little boy named Frankie, or your passed on grandmother. A board can unintentionally invite a demon and they are by invitation only. Putting the board away quickly and not closing it properly could have also left the door open.
I am not sharing this so that you will be filled with fear. I am sharing this so that you will have the tools to regain control. Do *not* run out to the back yard and burn your board either...it's the worst thing you could do. DB is absolutely correct in that there may be other explanations for what both you and your husband may be experiencing, and I highly recommend that you as well take steps to investigate those possibilities. The room most affected (your bedroom) should be checked for high electromagnetic frequencies (EMF). The homes heating and ventilation should be inspected for carbon monoxide leaks. The property and surrounding area should be assesed for toxins (not only your property but from surrounding businesses that may be releasing pollutants to the air, water or soil), and as well for geologic deposits (which may hold radiation). You can run a search for these here; http://www.epa.gov/ and here; http://www.usgs.gov/ Many of the problems from such issues can cause mild hallucinations and a host of physical problems later down the road. Your health is the first priority. Once you are certain you and your home are free and clear of outside factors which might be making you ill, I highly suggest contacting someone who can assist in the spiritual aspects of it all. Honestly, I recommend a spiritist or pagan clergy that you could probably locate through a local metaphysical shop to come in and help you close the board. I wouldn't try it yourself. Even if this isn't something that you in your own belief system might be inclined to do...they would know how to safely and effectively close the ouija board. Then, according to whatever own beliefs may be, have the house cleansed and blessed. You need to be an active participant in this though...take authority over your space back. If you invited a demon ultimately you will need to throw him out by 'uninviting' it. This is YOUR home and it isn't welcome there, make sure to tell it so verbally and aloud. More than once if need be. Be bold and stand your ground. Of course if you need anything, we are here for you. You shouldn't have to feel alone in your struggle with this, and there are many here willing to listen and offer suggestions. Keep us posted. RE: My Story...and yes, I'd never use one again.
I would recommend you look into the ideomotor effect and sleep paralysis and hypnogogic hallucinations and see if any of the descriptions sound familiar to you.
Ouija Use 1992-1996: 1.5 sess./day @45 min./sess. (1.13h) @83.4 days/yr @4 yrs Group: 500.6 sess. = 375.4 hrs/4 yrs Personal Partic.: 67% = 335.4 sess. = 251.5 hrs/4 yrs Current Conclusion: Ideomotor effect and suggestibility |

RE: My Story...and yes, I'd never use one again.
Thanks for the replies.
I don't really feel comfortable going to a church or a priest for help. I've thought about it though. I started praying for the 1st time in my life a month ago. I've always believed that my guardian angel was out to lunch when it came to my life, but I'm starting to believe in prayer (this is something I would have never thought possible before this stuff started happening). 3 years ago I was messing around in the occult/magic, and I started to have odd things happen then also. It freaked me out too much and I decided to drop the interest and leave well enough alone. After I did, nothing else happened,..that time. Everything went back to normal, like night to day. I remember saying to myself that I'd never dabble in the occult ever again. Then you know the rest. Not sure why I started up again. I wish I hadn't. The nightmares are the worst, almost every night I have one...or two...or three. I've been to the doctor and nothing seems to be wrong with me, I did a lot of tests & nothing seems to fit. I almost feel like calling in a paranormal group but, oh gosh, no way. I feel to shy about that & could they really help me, I doubt it. My sister is saying that I need to close the Ouija board properly. Yeah, I never said "goodbye",...but hell. NO WAY do I feel comfortable getting the board out again. Easy for my sister to say, she's not the one that has to do it! ![]() I am looking into different causes here but I tell you, somehow I just know that I have something evil in nature connected to me. I'm just glad that my husband isn't being affected. He saw the black shadow thing in the 1st month that things started going on, but he says he hasn't seen anything since. But now you guys have me wondering if I am going nuts. Ugh, this is a lonely place to be. |

RE: My Story...and yes, I'd never use one again.
Is your sister available to assist you in closing the board? I don't know how far or near she might live, but as I suggested in my post I think that's a good start. I don't think you should attempt it alone though. If you aren't comfortable with a priest that's fine. There are other sources where you could find trained clergy to help in blessing or cleansing your home. Have you tried locating a spiritist group, energy worker or even a pagan group (whatever you are comfortable with) on meetup.com? Again, a metaphysical shop might have a bulletin board, classes (which would mean they can contact the instructors) or groups in the area which might be of assistance to you. Be wary of those who charge for services though. Most consider this a ministry and would accept reimbursement for gas/expenses but if you find someone who wants to charge a fee...they might not be there with your best interest in mind. RE: My Story...and yes, I'd never use one again.
Oh wow! Thanks again Lady Kamae.
I didn't think about looking for help from a metaphysical shop, I'll do that. And that meetup.com,...hmmm, I think I'll look into that as well. Once I do, I'll report back here with what I find. My sister HATES the Ouija board. I guess when she was a kid she used one with friends and something bad happened (she won't tell me what happened to this day)! I used to think the Ouija was a cool "prop", but nothing more. Now I find out that she might have been right all along, ugh, I hate to admit that. I have a feeling she wouldn't go near my Ouija board let alone come over to my house knowing what's been going on with me. I'm curious, why should I not close the board by myself? |
