black mist

Sponsor Messages
My family has been seeing orbs in our pictures, and after reading that thread about orbs, I decided to just post these two pictures because there is a black mist that actually moves to a different stop in the second picture and there IS no explanation for it!

There are a couple orbs in the first one but could be dust.

Let me know what you all think of this black mist and what it could mean...

RE: black mist
Before I conclude that the mist is something paranormal, I would try out several cameras. It couldn't harm to get a pro to take a look at the camera you used for those photos. Does the mist appear in other locations in your house?

There is no exif information in either picture so we can't tell what happened in the picture. What I usually see is a finger out to far causing the shadow. Have the person hold the camera and watch for finger placement.

RE: black mist
This happens when you're finger is blocking a part of the camera. Look at the ghost pics at trueghosttales.com . There is one of a black mist/shadow

Her fingers were most definitely clear out of the way! There was nothing blocking the lens that she knew of.

edit: Also, The lense pops out for better focus.. the way the camera is designed it would be very awkward to hold it with your finger over the lense. If it was on there by mistake, she definitely would have known b/c it sticks out a few inches

Your finger wasn't over the the lens, but in most cases your finger is over
(or in front of) part of the flash. This causes the black shadow. A finger in front of the lens causes a bright light which this isn't. Just try it and you will see.

Argh. I'll ask her if her finger may have been over the flash. lol

She says her fingers were definitely not close enough to the flash to create such a shadow... She had been using the camera all day and these two are the only pics with this weird shadow, and they were taken one after the other, and the shadow clearly moves. She didn't move her fingers.

What could it be???

RE: black mist
There is a doorway there on the right, correct? Part of the flash is going into the other room and creating its own 'shadow anomaly'. The reason it looks like it's moving is because the camera operator moved at least a little and changed it's appearance slightly. The shadow is more of a dark spot then shadow, notice that the stairs are darker as well in the second photo? Dark spot caused by part of flash going into other room.

RE: black mist
Haven't read past UNR (and UNR you know I respect you), but that is no finger. I am not saying it is a ghost, but it is something to consider. Paperbutterfly, I think your picture is very interesting.
