I know I was rambling, so forgive me. I was just trying to get across that morals exist with or without a faith in God, therefore I didn't think it was fair to throw God into the question and asking if He was less important etc... I really think it was a valid point I made when I said being a good person should be because we want to be good, decent human beings. That should come from within us - with or without a faith in God. Yes, some religious nuts do awful things and think (wrongly!) that they are better people but they are not. I agree with that. Hypocritical, totally. And atheists can be outstanding moral people. God helps me stay spiritual focused. Jesus came to "pay" for the crap things that people do in this world (me included) I'd be be the last person to say I never mess up and do things wrong sometimes. But I strive to be good, always. |
