Sophia? Sounds nice enough to me. Remember the part about "absolute faith in God". So talk to this person. I envy your ability to see and hear stuff. I don't see or hear anything paranormal. Well 3 ice cubes just fell out of the refrigerator by themselves...does that count? Talk to this "lady". Lose the fear. Love her .

Not in the least.
Of course I am factoring in what sounds like an ability "to see and hear spirits" in an early stage of development.
It brings to mind the old parable of the blind men identifying the elephant. Too long to relate here.

The point is that your perception (talent to see) and judgement (cutural and religious beliefs) greatly affects how you see what you see and how you describe things in the spirit world. They actually have no body to begin with.
Another metaphor might be Helen Keller communicating for the first time. The "appearance" of things change as she learns. Fire would be evil and hurtful to her at first till she learned the subtleties of distance.
You, and I believe many who post at this site, are in the early stages of a learning curve when it comes to spirit communication.

Yes, I am a beginner. That's definately it.

That sounds crass on my part when you put it like that. I did not mean that in a negative way. Just the opposite. I see nothing...zip...zero. I am very impressed by anyone who can communicate on any level with the other side. So many folks who post to this site sound as though they are "gifted" but are letting their fears muck up their clarity.

I witnessed Georgia go from rarely ever talking about it to curiosity to overcoming fears on many levels to reach the point she is at now. That , plus 87 lifetimes finds her now living the life of a renowned medium. She sees and "speaks" to her spirit guide on pretty much a constant basis.

I am also a sensitive, as was my daughter, and my dad. I wish i understood more of the paranormal world, as i have lived with it for 51 years. All i know is what i have seen and heard.My daughter died in 1993, my dad died in 2003. My daughter comes to me often, usually in dreams. She knows that she is in Heaven, and we only have a short time to visit each other. We talk a little, hug, and i can smell her hair, we cry, and then we say goodbye. Amber watches over me. My dad came to me this morning, in a dream, him and i where sitting in mom and dads old house, in the den like we used to, and i was asking him something, that quickly, i woke up. Yesterday, as my hubby, mom and i where traveling back home from my sisters house, i was asking my mom, what does (auld lang zyne.).. not sure of spelling.. mean?? i said that i remembered asking dad years ago and him telling me and i had forgotten. I think thats what he was trying to tell me this morning.

Amber and dad visit me often, and many other loved ones who have passed on. As far as the angel named Sophia,,, if you dont have a good feeling about her, stay away...

Den and K2M are giving excellent advice... try it with a prayer and I am pretty sure you will find out if it is an angel for real or not!

HL, I know you are annoyed, but I think Den made some good suggestions. Sometimes we have to remove our emotions to get the real answers.

I simply don't for one minute believe that an angel would appear in human form. The possibility does exist that when you invite a spirit to communicate with you, sometimes it will be a deceiving spirit.

Thus said, I can talk to everyone elses spirit companions and guides, be visited by ghosts which wander about and can't make contact with my own spirit guide (which Sophia is not).

Maybe you are right, I am annoyed.

I think you will find out the answer soon... ask for some help from someone more experienced than you. it will be ok you have God on your side! don't get me wrong some spirits can deceive so you are so right to be careful go with your feelings be safe. then again if it is a bad spirit or a dark entity then you have to get rid of it! to protect your daughter since it's showing itself to her now! wait a minute don't spirit guides wait patiently for you to notice them?

you might want to check it out to protect yourself and others around you! pray for Sophia to go to the light you might find your answers????
