RE: What is Living in my Basement???
I wwonder the same if something is living in the attic of my grea great grand parents home. It is in relatively good shape for its age and has no history of animals getting in the house, either bats in the attic or any type of rodents in the cellar but late at night something caan be heard stiring about upstairs and movements stop when the lights are cut on. I have tried to trap it, hate to use poision, tried leaving food out just to see if any was eaten, which non was. There are no remains left by whatever it is, I am sorta stumped as to what is up there. The dog will juust go just so far up the stairs and will bark and growl. This is not a dog that is willing to back down from much of anything, due his breed and size but whatever is up there, has his total respect. If the house wasn't so well preserved, I'd sell it, which I might do anyway, and let the new owners ddo with it as they please but I hate to see it go and there is no promise that it might just like my company and go along for the ride back to my current home.

The notion of picking one time of the year to be decent to other people is obscene because it's actually validating the notion of being miserable wretches the rest of the year.

i lived in a house that was about 30 years old,, my hubby and i where hearing sounds coming from the attic.. there was only a small square hole to go in the attic.. so,, one day he went up and had to lay on his belly to get from end to end.. he put chicken wire on the end vents.... it was very dark up there and he only had a flashlight.... within a few days, we could hear something in the wall on the outside of the house... when we went out and looked.. there where small bats, laying on our sidewalk, that had slid, or crawled down from the attic, as they could not get out.....i know that isnt paranormal,, but,, we where shocked that they would even be there at all... as they fell over time, he would scoop them up with the shovel and throw them into the creek.....

oooooohhhh it just gives me the creepy crawlys.... k2m
graveyard hound.. do you think its paranormal???? is it a walk up attic?? i dont like attics and basements......k2m

RE: What is Living in my Basement???
GH it's kind of messy, but I'd gotten my daughter to sprinkle flour around the floor before when she was hearing footsteps and there was actually foot prints there the next morning. It would at least be a good way to see if there are animal tracks or something.

Of course, if what ever is making the noise don't touch the floor, then it wouldn't help at all.
