Ex was as white as a...
Sponsor Messages I sometimes can sense things. I can look at someone and just know what they are thinking. I'll think about someone I haven't seen in years, and they will call. I will say a word, and then hear it repeated on the radio or television. This goes for unusual words as well. Anyway, back in the 80's, I was living with a friend from college who was very into psychic abilities - tarot, palms, automatic writing, etc. One weekend she was going to visit her parents' home, so I had my boyfriend - now my ex-husband - stay over. I had this small cot for a bed, so he slept on the floor. I woke up one morning feeling the most rested I had ever felt for a long time. There was my ex in the corner of the room sitting on the floor. He was pale and shaking. I asked him what was the matter. My ex told me that he had awoke in the middle of the night because he heard the front door fly open. He heard people walking through the apartment and talking. Their conversation was loud yet garbled. He said that he immediately thought that the place was being burglarized, so he tried to remain as quiet as possible. He saw lights under the bedroom door, and then he heard people go into my roommate's bedroom. He said it sounded like people were going through her drawers and ransacking her room. He hid in the corner and said he prayed that I didn't wake up. He figured I would scream if I heard the noise, and then the intruders would come in and kill us. My ex said the noise went on for hours. He couldn't take it anymore, so he began to slowly open the bedroom door. No one was there, and nothing had been moved or upset in the apartment. I lived in a two story house, so I asked my neighbors the next day if they heard anything. They said no. I should add that my ex said that he had an amazing burst of energy that day - like he had been recharged. I applaud myself for leaving out any sarcastic comments about my ex-husband. |

Very interesting experience, and I love your writing style. And having an ex-husband (or two) myself, I do applaud your restraint!
Just out of curiousity, do you have any personal belief that having objects in the house such as Tarot, could make the place more open to paranormal activity? Or had the place had any kind of reputation for being haunted before that you know of? My roommate had been going to this woman who was taking her money in order to rid her of the "dark spirits" that were surrounding her. My roommate gave frequent tarot readings to people. Often I would come home, and she'd be at the kitchen table doing automatic writing. Once she told me that the spirit had asked if I could leave the apartment for the night. I told her that when he starts kicking in for rent, he will have a say on what goes on in the household. The neighbor upstairs claimed that she saw an "Indian in a headdress" standing in the hallway. My hat goes off to the deceased Native Americans. Not only did we take their land, but those people's souls never seem to get any rest - all those claims about visits from them. Many places in New Jersey are said to be ancient Lenape burial grounds. I believe the house was built in the early 1900's. I have to admit that I never felt alone in the house. I would watch TV or read and sense that someone was sitting beside me. I got used to it, and it didn't bother me. My ex is Jewish, and has no interest in the paranormal, yet he commented, "She [the roommate] brought something into this house." My roommate arrived home a few days later and was very disappointed that she had not been there to witness the festivities. |

We do think alike about the Native Americans, FriendlyHaiku...and I can certainly relate to not feeling alone in a house when you're the only one who seems to be there. I'm so glad you shared your story here, and I look forward to hearing much more!
It's my opinion that certain items have the potential to invite negative energy in if they are left wide open to do so. I believe that your roommate, albeit unintentionally, made things a little easier. Again, it's my belief, and I am sure many others will be offered here. If you don't mind me asking, where on the autism spectrum is your daughter? I teach fourth grade and have had Asperger children in the classroom and children with with PDD. They are a pleasure to teach. I have learned a lot from them! |

It's small but there's a chance that your ex was having a waking dream.
