For the past couple of days I've had to sleep with my lights on and a rosary around my neck. I've been very scared.
Over the weekend I went over to my friends girlfriends house. She considers herself "pagan" and also has a spirit guide. I myself have little or no knowedge of wicca or wiccan practices (or so I thought), but she has told me that I am "very psychic" and a few months ago she did an exercise on me where she shared our energies and read my mind. At the time I had wanted to know the REAL reasons my last boyfriend had left me. She somehow connected to him through me. She has also said that she sees a lot of "psychic elements" in many of my art pieces, which I didn't consciously know where there!
This past Friday I said half seriously, "Let's contact my greatgrandmother and find out who my grandpa's father really was." My granddad was adopted at birth. I know my great-granmothers REAL name, but not the name of the one she had the child with---it was blacked out on the birth certificate.
Long story short. Her demeanor changed and she said that someone had entered her apartment and wanted to "talk to me." She made a circle of salt three times around my friends and put the ouija board in the middle with a purple candle. She carved the name of her spirit guide on it and an eye next to the name. She also burned some kind of herb around us and blew the smoke onto each of us. Three of us used the board and one of my friends was writing things down as they came. When my male friend took his hand of the board it immediately started working.
It Gave The Following:
-My Name (MANY times)
-My Great-Granddad's Name, "Reilly"
-The reason why my great-grandmother gave up the child, "shame and mockery"...his family was rich and hers was not
-My grandpa's name
-The dates 1912 and 1919
-The name of the new man my great-granmother married
-The Name "Zanaida" was spelled out SEVERAL times, but I don't know who that is; however, I do have a Greek last name and that is supposedly a name for a Greek female
-It said "BIPOLAR" is association to either the female Zanaida or myself
-A child "Tom" that my great-grandmother had later and who is still alive
-The region my grandpa was born in
-AN ADDRESS FOR TOM
Whatever it was it knew many things that some of my closest friends didn't know. I'm scared and I have been warned about using an Ouija board before.
Apparently the spirit of my great-grandmother didn't want to leave and lingered. She upset my male friend quite badly and he was sweating. He believes she hates men. She followed my friend and I (or so I was told) and started saying mean things about my male friend and getting angry. I told her that I would talk with her later and my friend said she had departed.

Well even if her spirit made some kind of contact...the fear might be in the perception of it all. If she was a negative person...that energy is quite possibly still going to be negative.
It certainly sounds like an interesting experience...I have gone back and forth quite a bit on how I believe in regards to how much power the board itself actually has...but I also know that there are a lot of these types of experiences.
You should (if you haven't already) look at some of the stories here on the forum...I'm guessing you will relate to many of them.

I agree with you. I could also sense some negativity coming from her. Do you feel that could potentially be dangerous? My friend said that when we were talking about the experience she kept returning. I felt like she was in my room the other day and it worried me.
I don't think spirits are dangerous...however, I don't think that someone who was negative while they were alive is going to be nice when they are dead. They might understand things better...but at the same time, I think a person's spirit is the essence of who they are..and it's my opinion that this doesn't change much at death.
All of that is my opinion...and there's a lot of other things to consider when things happen that seem paranormal. However, I do believe that spirits make contact...and I believe they can do so without the assistance of a Ouija board.
I also believe in the power of positive energy. If you focus on what you believe to be the source for positive energy, I think that will aid you in anything negative that might be trying to worm its way in.
You're going to get varying opinions and degrees of those opinions on your post....pro and con. Just hold on tight.
I believe in spirits and that they each have their own personality just as in life... some positive, some negative. How you accept and work with those energies is your choosing for the most part...meaning... you have control over you and how you react ... how you accept or reject their being with you....and that is a long way from where I was with all of this, Ouija aside, 30 years ago.
Some will tell you that a Ouija is no more than the materials from which it is made. Some will tell you that it is of no difference than any other divination tool. Some will tell you that they believe spirits can be drawn to it that are not of one's request or desire. *Raises hand* It would appear to me on the surface you had a lot of psychic energy in that room.
I hope it was white sage she blew on you for protection. I sure would have asked.
What kind of board was this? Created or purchased? If created, created by whom?
Although I have interest in the answers and follow on events, I also have interest in how the questions were posed and by whom. I do believe some people literally control the planchette on purpose. Some would say subconsciously someone always does. I don't accept that theory today due to my own experiences. I bring that up because you said as soon as your male friend let go the board suddenly answered. I deduce you feel that is because now of her perceived dislike of men. I think it's possible your friend's friend was controlling it ... and she may be gifted as well. I don't know.
If you feel your grandmother is around and making you feel uncomfortable, simple tell ... not ask... her to leave you alone because that is what you need her to do. I also feel you could have contacted a spirit posing as your grandmother.

I haven't known her long enough and the other people in the room were not aware of the details either.

I myself thought that she seemed to give off a lot of anger for a deceased family member. I was not alive during her time and never did anything to her.

She may be gifted just as you may be. It sounded to me like you were already aware of your gifts from your other post...unless you mean that she claimed you have more than you are aware beyond the automatic writing and being sensitive that you are not aware of yourself.

Prior to this I was aware that I was (at the very least) different from others because things would affect me VERY strongly. For example, when I would take exams at my University I would fail them because I felt overwhelmed by the "noise" in the room. I felt like I was picking up on other peoples thoughts and emotions. This would also happen during lecture. I would find that I would go to class in a good mood and then at the end it I would be seething---for no reason. When I would leave the area my mood would return to normal. I have also had times where I had no reason to be upset or angry and it was as though I was channeling the emotions of another person.
When my friend first met me we "shared energy" and she said that I was extremely psychic. She said it was so strong that when she walked into the room she could pick up on my "energy." She said it was coming and going in rapid bursts and was a bit out of control.
My family never knew my great-grandmother because my father was adopted, which is why I was so curious about her. If she was bipolar then I could understand if she too had emotional issues.
I never knew what automatic writing or psychic art was until recently. It seems that I have had this gift of "channeling" since I was very very young. What is even more unusual is that I grew up in a strict Christian household, so I didn't have anyone around who could teach me how to do those things. I also find it odd that I have those type of "gifts."
Welcome to the place where you can feel the least odd.
Most here have 1 or more gifts ... some highly developed and others not and everything inbetween
With all due respect, it is not nearly as important what your friend feels about your abilities as it is how you do... and how you learn to accept them and embrace them.
Sounds like you are empathic... you pick up on others energies and moods. Some empaths go further into picking up on illnesses and become healers.
I assumed your avatar was one of your works of art. Very nice. I would be interested in hearing more about your psychic art and automatic writing.
Coming from a Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Wiccan, or any other faith background does not mean one will not have gifts. It does in some denominations more than others and within families perhaps create a bit of a barrier for developing them especially if such is considered taboo for whatever reason.

My mother is VERY much against pagan/wiccan practices of any kind; however, she told me that when she was my age she sensed that my grandmother and aunt were doing something she deemed "bad" while on the way to their house. She found them in the living room using Tarot Cards. I only cite this event because I know that people in my family have dabbled with the occult (if you want to call it that).
If someone is an "empath" can that be a potentially overwhelming gift? I feel overwhelmed a LOT and have to retreat to my house to get the quiet and space that I feel I need. I think it is to recharge or something. A lot of people think that I am ignoring them or blowing them off, and its very hard to explain how I am feeling to them. They don't get it.
