Now I will admit I find this .... strange but really don't know much about it. I hear people pray in tongues because Satan can't understand it. Is there a reason you need to speak in tongues? I'm sorry I just don't buy this.

I have seen it in person before, I dont get it.

I always thought speaking in tongues meant that you would be able to instantly know other languages without studying so you could communicate and spread the word of god to more people.

No its thought to be a spiritual tongue only between you and God the article is really intresting.

I think it is scary... I have seen it once in a Church. I was visiting. Usually I think it's for show. There may be rear times it is not, but not many I beat. I know in the Bible I read that you must have an interpreter, and that one I saw didn't. Jesus said that why send a message no one can understand, that would just scare people away. Not in those word's exactly but pretty much. And thats what it does, scare people away. Butch of weirdos if you ask me. Unless it's genuine.

So if you're allegedly speaking to god in gibberish you can make it mean anything you want.

The way I understand it is ........ satan was present when all the languages of the world were created so tongues is supposed to be between you and God.... hmmmmm yea he can understand it. So in closing to God namanana dadity nevarity commel lastickity.

I thought he was lactose intolerant. Or... as I saw earlier on Failbook.... "lack toast and tolerant".

I grew up in a Pentecostal family and have seen this many many times. Im not saying that everyone who does it is real but the "phenomenon" itself IS real

Also it is not a gibberish, nor is it only between the person and God. Just read the Book of Acts. When they spoke in tongues all the people that were around heard and even though they were from different countries and spoke different languages each could hear words that they understood.

I was at a service once and the preacher started speaking in "tongues" and there was a woman in the pews who understood him. The message was to hear. It was a certain dialect of German that she understood. She said it was the same way that it had been spoken when she lived there as a child. As far as I know no one else in that church knew German and the preacher certainly did not nor did he know anything about this woman. This was a revival and people would come from miles away to attend

I have seen many things like this and although I cannot explain the how and why I do know that these things are true and they absolutely do happen:

Prophecy
"Tongues"
Miracle healings
Demonic deliverance (we never called it an exorcism, but instead a deliverance)
