I have also seen this many times in different churches, one with over 3000 members, down to one with maybe 40 members. I used to visit many churches and check out different religions, it was very interesting. I am with CT, i have also seen people healed.

I have to say, my husband is a hands on healer, and he used to help many in the big church that we both used to go to years ago. In his case, it became very overwhelming, as he is a very private person. This happened by accident when he hugged a lady one day, and she told him that her was a healer. Thats where is all started with him, and it got bigger and bigger, untill he finally stopped going to church.

He does not like the spotlight at all. Now, his healing is done with friends and family. He also heals people at times and they have no clue, he is very humble about all of it.

There are many mysteries in this world that we will never totally understand.
I also grew up in a Pentecostal Church and if you pray to speak in tounges then you should also pray for an inturpeture to edify the church, but if you pray in tounges then you are speaking to God alone and no man can understand. I know there are fakes out there but they aren't all fakes
Who is able to determine who is fake and who isn't?
"by their fruits you shall know them"
Guys with all do respect to this forum and the Mods in it. I very strongly think it is not wise to call someones personal spiritual beliefs Gibberish.
If you do not understand it or agree with it that is one thing. But to say things like not real or gibberish with all due respect is not right.
I really want to be respectful to all religions and I think that this forum should be as well. This is a paranormal forum and should be open to all aspects of the paranormal/above normal. We have people come on here saying all kinds of things all kinds of claims we should try to be respectful to all.
And offer opinions and express thoughts about certain topics as well. But we should do it with respect to that person there culture and spiritual background. Debunking offering advise is one thing. But I feel there should be a certain respect so people feel more comfortable discussing this topic.
Thats just my thoughts and I wanted to tell all our Christian members that I do respect each one of you and do believe in paranormal phenomena I am a open skeptic I guess you could say. I do believe if you choose to Worship your God in tongues there is nothing wrong with it.
You guys that are Christian and Athiest and all kinds of spiritual backgrounds have treated me and "My beliefs" with respect I think the least I can do is treat you with the same.
I believe as with people that do amazing thing's physically when under stress, or extreme awareness of danger.Example..... A mother lifting a car off their child,or a yogi with amazing control of their function's of their bodies, or excercises they can do. Why would speaking in tongue's be any different than that in the spiritual side of thing's. Yes in some cases i believe that individual's become so focused and aware they are able to reach a higher level of comunication which is not understood in this reality.
I have a example but ill leave that to another thread,it was on a more personal level, and the topic may get intense. But it involved another person not me.
Gibberish is a form of secret language, there are many forms of it so speaking tongues maybe a variation of this. I don't think anyone is bashing a religion. I also notice how we have different definitions of this. Some claim multiple people understand it others say only god does.
agreed in UK my family taught me Gibberish means just "making no sence". But there is a small language barrier I think cause I still call like a match a fag. Kissing snogging etc, Thank you for clearing that up. Sometimes things translates different to some people.

If you base the answer to this by what the Bible says then they are speaking in other known languages. I dont recall anywhere in the Bible that it indicates the language is to be understood only by God:

Acts 1 1-11 KJV

1: And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2: And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3: And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4: And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5: And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6: Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7: And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8: And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
9: Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10: Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11: Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Yes but Andrasta said:So if you're allegedly speaking to god in gibberish you can make it mean anything you want.
So maybe thats why also I seen it as saying "Non sence" was the context it was delivered in. If I am wrong I am sorry.
