My new word for the day...paraskevidekatriphobia. I have no idea how to PRONOUNCE it...but I learned it!
The fear of Friday the 13.
One origin for the Friday the thirteenth superstition refers back to when King Philip IV of France ordered the arrest of the French Knights of the Templar on Friday, October 13, 1307. However, looking through snopes, the day Friday and the number 13 have both been considered unlucky for a multitude of reasons. And of course...there's those unlucky (and dumb) teenagers at Crystal Lake in the Friday the 13 movie franchise.
Any thoughts on Friday the 13 or other superstitions you have heard about its origin?
