Back in the mid to late 1800's to 1930's there was something photographers were experimenting called spirit photography. The photographers were putting the deceased in the pictures of loved ones.

I have read that photography during that time period were done with the images being put on plates by the camera. It was not uncommon for a plate to be reused. Therefore, the image of the first photo would superimpose onto the second photo. I am not a photo expert. Hopefully, a member will stop by and explain the process better.

I have an interest in postmortem photos. The first picture is a postmortem picture.

Creepy pictures. I wonder what the old spirit photographers could have come up with if they had the photoshop stuff we have available today. They seem to have done some cool stuff with what they had.
